Case Study
Context
KUOE Kyoto, the Japanese microbrand watchmaker established in Kyoto in 2020 by Kenji Uchimura, needed brand film content that could communicate its classic, hand-assembled design philosophy and the mid-20th-century aesthetic that defines models like the Old Smith 90-001.
Challenge
The work needed to reach an international watch-enthusiast audience while staying authentically rooted in Kyoto craftsmanship, and it had to communicate heritage and product detail without leaning on tourist shorthand or losing microbrand intimacy.
Strategic Response
We built a creative direction around restraint, material close-ups, and Kyoto workshop atmosphere, production choices designed to let the watches carry the narrative and to position KUOE as a serious classic-design microbrand for global watch collectors.
Execution
Streetshow led creative direction, location production in Kyoto, product styling, and post-production, delivering a cohesive brand film asset set aligned with KUOE’s existing visual identity.
Outcome
The finished work gave KUOE Kyoto a premium brand film system aligned with its microbrand positioning and ready for rollout across its own channels, retailers, and the international watch enthusiast community.
